Hama Hama is looking for reliable and hardworking folks to work in our restaurant and farm store in Lilliwaup, WA. We've got multiple openings, both front of house and back of house, from now until October. This is a great opportunity for students on summer break, or for anyone looking to spend the summer working outdoors in a gorgeous setting, with a fun team and happy customers. You’ll learn a ton about oysters and make good money. No previous experience required, but if you can cook or shuck, we wanna know about it!
About Hama Hama:
Family owned and operated for six generations, we’re a shellfish and timber farm located on the eastern slopes of the Olympic Peninsula. Our reputation for quality is built on hard work and clean water. Our mission is pretty simple: use low impact farming methods to grow world-class oysters and trees, have fun, and leave something good for those who will come after us.
Our Oyster Saloon is an outdoor dining experience located on the shores of Hood Canal, just a stone’s throw from our oyster farm. We serve raw and grilled oysters, steamed clams, and a variety of other seafood and non seafood dishes. We keep our menu simple and farm-focused while leaving ourselves room to experiment and grow. In January, the Oyster Saloon made Seattle Metropolitan Magazine’s list of Best Restaurants in Washington State outside of Seattle.
The Saloon is open Friday - Sunday from 11 to 6, and we have live music and a simplified menu Thursday nights from 2 to 7.
Job Duties May Involve:
- Running food to tables and /or picking empty plates back up
- Taking orders and pouring drinks
- Shucking oysters, steaming clams, cooking crab cakes, etc
- Working in the farm store
- Hosting or working the expo station.
Requirements include:
- Positive attitude
- Treat others with respect & communicate well with customers and team members
- Show up on time, are able to follow instructions and are comfortable asking questions when you need more clarification.
- Able to handle a fast paced restaurant environment - we're busy!
- Willing to work weekends and holidays.
- WA state Food Handler’s certification and MAST card - which we can help you get.
- This is an outside job in a busy restaurant kitchen, please see list of physical requirements below.
- Individuals must adhere to all safety standards, including proper care and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Compensation range starts at $16.00 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and the tasks you're willing to take on, plus tips, which can be anywhere from $8 to $12 additional per hour.
