Before the age of refrigeration, pickled oysters were as common as salt cod, only tastier. We're proud to be one of the few oyster companies to carry on the tradition. Our pickling recipe calls for par-boiled oysters, vinegar, and pickling spice, but no dill. The result is tangy and slightly sweet, and is a best seller in our store.
This is a 10 oz jar of pickled oysters. And, since we're now a lot savvier about food safety than we were in the 18th century, these little beauties do require refrigeration.
