2019 Rama VIP: Natural Wine Fair
We’ve wanted to include a natural wine experience into the Oyster Rama from the moment we heard Shawn Mead describe this “new” wine trend. Every bottle has a slightly different character? Product quality depends entirely on environmental conditions? The winemakers are constantly being humbled and delighted by the complexity of the wide, wild world? We can totally relate.
This experience offers a deep dive into the fast changing world of natural wine. We’ve got expert guidance, delicious bites, and a whole hour to figure out (or at least debate) what the term “natural wine” even means.
The wine fair takes place in our shucking cooler from 2 to 3 pm during the Oyster Rama. The shucking cooler is not known for its cozy ambiance, but we'll make up for that with amazing food and drink. Wines will be selected by:
Will Piper, a bartender and sommelier based in New York, who has survived many ebbs and flows in the wine world over the past 15 years. He currently finds himself riding a tidal wave of natural wine behind the bar at The Four Horsemen, a wildly popular restaurant in Brooklyn.

Bryn Hagman, wine director of Vinnies, a wine bar focused on real wine and raw seafood in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle. Coming Spring 2019 from the award-winning team behind No Anchor and Navy Strength, the Vinnie's philosophy is to present wine in a way that is fun, approachable, and affordable.
